VENUE: GOURI SHANKAR RESIDENTIAL ENGLISH MEDIUM SCHOOL, NUAGAON, BHUBANESWAR

DATE OF ACTIVITY: 22ND JULY 2007 (SUNDAY)

Due to advent of monsoon we thought of taking Plantation drive for this month and accordingly approached the Principal, Gouri Shankar Residential English Medium School, who was very much kind enough to allow us to conduct the programme in their school.

To start with all the Parivar Members assembled in the school premises in the morning around 7 a.m. We had invited the Principal and other staff to join us in the programme. To begin with, PM Co-ordinator apprised the basic objective of our programme to the Teaching staff and students of the school.

Mr. P.K. Tripathy, BBSM welcomed gathering and gave his inaugural address. He threw light on Global warming, water crisis and noise pollution and requested everyone to contribute their best to keep the environment eco-friendly.

Mr. B.N. Tripathy, Principal of the school delivered his speech and influenced all the children to plant more and more trees and keep the surroundings neat and clean.

Few students also spoke on the occasion and shared their views on environment protection.

Mr. A.K. Nag, our PM Member conveyed vote of thanks to the Management Committee.

The speech session was followed by Plantation of the saplings. For attracting the attention, our PM Banner in Hindi, Oriya and the banner for Plantation Drive were also displayed.

As a token of our gesture BSSM handed over a small memento to the Principal for their kind co-operation to make our programme successful.

We are really thankful to the School Authorities for their instant approval to carry out our programme. Principal showed his interest to have some other Programmes in their school in the future.

The Programme was concluded by 10.30 am and we feel our objectives will definitely be in their mind for environment protection.
